finally it's finished...the four noble truths... it's been a while the cd been push back supose to come out like what? 3 month ago? lol yea now we have the set date. the worldwide release is march 24th. and cd release party which u will recieve a free copy by attending the show is march 28th at arlean grocerys

Arlene's Grocery. the thing is that the set time we have an hour and half set. from 11:30pm to 1:00am the problem u would think that.. would people show? because it runs till 1am.

first whoever attend the concert and paid admission receieves a free copy of the new CD.

and I figure most of the people going, and would be too late to catch the bus on a Saturday night.. then why dont they just split a hotel room where they can drink before/after if they wanted to... it's not that much for 1 night to split..

so we are planing to rent out 2 hotel rooms and other people can do that too so we can make sure people come out. and it'll be an after party at the rooms or wutever.

and the show's saturday night.. and sunday free parking so no worrys about that.

it's party time biatches~

Hey everybody, Derril here.

Just wanted to let everyone know the truth behind our next cd. I've been working long and hard on the new recordings and I want the listener to know how this sort of thing came together.

First, we all got together and wrote songs. we jammed and had a lot of fights.

Then we recorded John's drums. He's not a very good drummer though, so I waited until he left and just programmed them all in Reason using obscure electronica samples.

Next was Brent. He played 50 million guitar parts on top of eachother and did about 5,000 solos. Most of them were out of tune though, so I just muted them and played it myself on a Playskool ukelele.

After that we had to drug tony to get him in the studio. Normally he's actually pretty good, but I guess the drugs had an effect so he just kept playing Van Halen covers and his tracks were useless. Plus his hair was everywhere, screaming infidelities. Basically I just copied the tracks I recorded for brent and EQ'ed them differently.

Jack was gonna record all his erhu parts at home and import them into our sessions, but it turns out I have this really cool keyboard patch on my casio called "panflute" that sounds better than an erhu anyway. I'm just gonna delete all jack's work and play my keyboard.

Then, of course, there are my bass parts. After playing the rest of the album I didnt really feel like playing bass, so I just recorded a single note and I'm using Autotune to makes the rest of the cd.

So there you have it. When I come up with a name and finish up this wicked awesome Microsoft Paint file I have for the artwork I'll let you know.

we had the taping this past thursday it's our first time playing at Pianos at NYC and i would have to say that place has one of the best sound system in the city. couldn't be more happier regards to how the MTV Taping came out.. even tho i crash into the drum set bump into Brent and my erhu was all out a tune in the middle of of the set. with all the raw energy and all the breaking of the instrument and the crowd going crazy...

i could say it was one of the most memorable NYC show we played for a long while.. maybe the last NYC show that's this badass was at the closing night at CBGBs 2 years ago..

after the set the owner of pianos was so impressed of our set that he gave me half a dozen more free drink tickets and got me really wasted.. and i turn out to get home 4:30 in the morning..

the next morning i had to get up with a huge hangover and lack of sleep and go to NYC to the studio for MTV world.. it's for the interview segment of the show. and i was extremely tired that when the band was answering questions i was completely zooming out.. everyone was answering the question individually and when was my turn to answer the question i was like... what? what was the question again?

just being completely hangover zooming out and talking half asleep.. and prabably nonsense.. don't even really remember half of what i said..

all i remember is Dana laughing at me answering every question on the side watching us doing the interview.

we had a meeting with "one note Entertainment" two days ago.. they are basically a management/booking agency which books bands for NACA conventions which is booking for all college events/shows.. and we decided to sign contract with them. it looks pretty promising that they can offer high level shows to play in the future!

looking forward to working with one note entertainment!

so a few weeks ago the New Jersey nets contacted us.. regards to opportunity to perform gigs at the IZOD center at the half time show! we are all very excited when we got the email..

we had a meeting at the Nets office for a good half an hour regards to ideas of how thing is going to happend..

because of Nets just acquired a new Chinese player Yi and they have heard that we were featured in the Olympics and we are from the NJ area they hit us up and perhaps working with us regards to entertainment area..

we going to have a show for the Taiwanese student organization at club Don Hills and they were willing to donate a NJ Nets Uniform/Jersey to the event for raffling.

so there's very possible collaboration/sponsor of hsu-nami w/ NJ Nets!

it wascool we met at their NJ Nets office which all the Nets players were there at the courts next door practice for the pre-season..

here's the backstory regards to this Hsu-nami feature in the Olympics:
me personally is a Taiwanese American, move to Tenafly when i was 12 years old.

the band has been playing for Passport to Taiwan Festival every single year since the band formed and been very close with the organization .

Just saying about all the politics going on with Taiwan and China regards to violating IOC rules and calling Taiwan, "Taipei China". oppress the Taiwanese people, Tabet and amongst many others.

so the Taiwan Organization wasn't so warmly congratulate us with this success since our music is a success and "represents" the China Basketball Team.. instead of Taiwan Team etc. but i do want people to be aware of this issue.. so it's kinda been stressful because the band doesn't take side in all these politics.

apparently NBC played the song during the olympic basketball game and mentioned my name ....

and apparenly one of the gymnist use hsu-nami's song as their routine in the olympics...

well anyone sees this on tv please let us know.. because.. i keep on missing all these moments since we can't watch the olympics all day just to hear 1 minute of our song being played.. lol

because I been hearing all these things but.. it's just sounds like myth to me.. need to see it to believe it -.-
